Having a sweep attend a wedding is a longstanding tradition, bringing luck and good fortune to the happy couple. It’s not for every sweep but attending weddings are a good way to earn a nice fee whilst promoting a sweeping business and being at the centre of a lovely celebration. What’s not to like.
To enter: Come to the Sweep Stuff Exhibition wearing your Wedding Sweep outfit and go to the reception desk at the exhibition entrance. Judging will be on a points system based around your attire and some questions on your approach to the event, and the service you offer etc.
Our professional photographer will be on hand to take shots for your marketing etc. Obviously, winning a competition like this would be great for your advertising and the Guild may also feature you on its consumer sites and pages.
Around 20% of Guild members have listed ‘Weddings Attended’ in their list of services on the findachimneysweep website. The new ‘Specialist Sweep Services’ section on the site makes it much easier for visitors to search for specific services, including local sweeps who attend weddings. Visit the search to see how easy it is.
For members: We will run various promotions and advertising for sweeps at weddings. If you offer this service, check your profile on the findachimneysweep website to make sure that ‘Weddings attended’ is listed. If it’s not, get in touch and we’ll add it. Equally, if you have weddings attended listed on your profile but no longer offer this, please contact us so we can remove it – otherwise the upcoming promotions are likely to produce some wasted phone calls etc.
