Earlier this year, the annual charity raffle at the Guild of Master Chimney Sweeps Exhibition weekend raised a fantastic £2570. The proceeds were split between CO-Gas-Safety (Carbon monoxide awareness & victim support) and Macmillan Cancer Support.
Below are letters of thanks from the charities.
Many thanks to all the exhibitors and individuals for their generous donations.
From CO-Gas Safety
CO-Gas Safety was delighted to receive the generous donation of £1,285 from the Guild
of Master Chimney Sweeps. We’ve always recognised the hard work by all sweeps in preventing deaths and injuries from unintentional carbon monoxide(CO) poisoning.
We much admire the professionalism of the Guild and their work, with other sweep organisations, in creating the Federation of British Chimney Sweeps. We particularly appreciate the work by the Guild in creating a CO protocol to ensure that an investigation could be undertaken when carbon monoxide is suspected.
With grateful thanks to all members of the Guild.
Stephanie Trotter, OBE (Mrs)
President & Director of CO-Gas Safety
From Macmillan Cancer Care
Turning mountains into molehills. That’s what your collection of £1285 could do for people living with cancer.
When Julian faced eviction, we helped him get the grants he needed. When Richard wanted to work flexibly, our Work Support team made sure he got the right equipment. When Jenny went for her mastectomy, our nurses explained everything to her.
At Macmillan, we give people with cancer everything we’ve got. If you’re diagnosed, your worries are our worries. We will move mountains to help you live life as fully as you can. But we can’t do any of this without gifts like yours, The Guild Of Master Chimney Sweeps Ltd. Your support means everything to us.
So, thank you from all of us at Macmillan.
