Burnright Campaign

Burnright helps consumers to significantly reduce pollution through efficient use of their fuels and fires at home. It also reduces fuel consumption and makes a difference to chimney safety.

Burnright was launched in March 2018. Co-founders Lawson Wight and David Sudworth brought together Lawson’s understanding of the problem and David’s marketing skills to create an industry wide campaign.

All professional sweeps know the importance of educating their customers on how to use their appliances effectively, as well as how to choose the right fuel and all the other factors which ultimately affect air quality.

From their experience David and Lawson also knew that most people who use a stove or fire are unaware of what causes unnecessary pollution. The campaign provides sweeps with a range of materials, tools and media, making it easy for them to get the right messages to their customers.

Since it started, Burnright has received widespread support from people right across the solid fuel industry and beyond, including chimney sweeps, trade associations, charities, local authorities private companies etc.

The government department DEFRA specifically referenced Burnright in the 2019 Clean Air Strategy, making clear that the efforts we were taking can help make a difference.

Burnright is an independent, grass roots campaign – run by chimney sweeps for the wider benefit of everyone, including those who don’t even have a solid fuel appliance.

HOW?

BECAUSE WE ALL BREATHE THE SAME AIR…
