Guild Training courses are open to anyone, non-members are welcome. They are run from leading national centres and are delivered by qualified trainers. We run different courses for trainees and experienced sweeps alike. Please select a course from the list below for more details. Generous discount for Guild members.
The Guild Training Programme for new sweeps starts with an intensive four day course. It is a great mix of theory and practical with plenty of time for questions and discussion. A maximum trainee to trainer ratio of 4 to 1 means you get the attention you need. There is lots of different equipment to see and use on the course and our feedback is consistently excellent.
For experienced sweeps, we have range of courses to help you expand your business and become a certified professional in your area including our CCTV Survey and Chimney Integrity Testing Course and a Historic and Thatch Property Sweeping Course.
Our online 5-yearly chimney sweep refresher course keeps experienced sweeps up-to-date on all legislation and trends within the sweeping industry.

Guild Training Programme – Masterful Sweeping
The Guild Training Programme is designed for complete beginners and those wishing to begin a new career in chimney sweeping.
On-site Trainer Course (members only)
Experienced Guild members wishing to deliver on-site training or provide mentoring for new sweeps must attend this course.
5-yearly Refresher Course
Aimed at experienced sweeps and open to anyone including non-members the course updates you on all the latest techniques and standards.
Historic and Thatch Property Sweeping Course
This unique and innovative course helps professional sweeps better understand the particular issues when working in older / historic buildings and thatched properties.
Combined CCTV Survey and Chimney Integrity Testing Course
This course helps professional sweeps better understand the specific requirements when undertaking chimney survey and testing work including responsibilities and insurance requirements.
